Blade Curver?

Recommended Posts

I tried searching but I am unsure of what to search and am turning up no results...does any one know where I can get on of those blade vices that allows you to recurve blades and actually shows you measurements so you can duplicate curves?

I use mine with composites (going on 5 years)... Lots of trial and error over the years as far as how much to heat it up( NEVER have the flame touch the blade), some brands hold up to the heat better than others. The key is to find a curve that is close to what you want. You can't bend the blade as much as you can with wood. I take a little of the curve off of Iginla and make it more of a toe curve. Keep in mind, I don't wind up anymore, just wristers basically, so the blade isn't taking a beating.

How well will a blade with an ABS core stand up to be shaped? Do they get brittle after you cool them? Do they get soft alot quicker after being re-curved?
