Chappie

So, I've been given an option

Recommended Posts

I've been offered a size 7 pair of Vapor XV's. they are going to cost me like 60 bucks, that is, obviously, if they are the right fit. (never really tried to fit into a vapor before)

My questions are: A. is this a good skate, I guess from a durability stand point, or am I better off just getting a newer skate and just dealing out the cash? and B. obviously it's a different radius, different holder, different pitch, I understand that, but are these skates particularly narrow, or are they a fairly standard width?

A. Depends on who you are. 240 pound former professional who would burn through these skates? 45 year old recreational player? First tike skater? I'd recommend these skates for a recreational player who will not be too hard on skates.

B. Vapor series run a bit narrower than other lines. In NBH reference...Vapors, Supremes, Flexlites from narrow to wide.

The best advice I can give to you though would be to try them on before purchase, if that is at all possible.

Oh yes it is, and I'm going to tomorrow actually. I'm 5'8/9 180, and it would be like 4 to 5 times a week + open hockey, until next seasons mens leagues start.
