Liner in Supreme One55 skates

Recommended Posts

I am looking for some insight on the liner in the Nike Bauer Supreme One55 skates.

I'm not sold on it, otherwise i would have bought the One55 a long time ago.

I like Clarino type of liner that Bauer has on most of their skates.

However, i like everything else about the One55. I like the materials they are made of (save the liner), and i like the fit and comfort. I like soft boots on skates.

But that liner.

Any and all insight on it would be greatly appreciated.

How durable is it?

It is listed as moisture wicking... but it looks like it would soak up. Is that the case? Does it soak up? Or does it really wick/repel water?

Thanks guys.

The One/ 55 has the quick dry synthetic liner. It's not the same liner as in it's higher end cousins but it does the job. Yes, you don't get the anti-bacterial feature to stop odors and it doesn't say Hydrophobic but believe me it is. If you like the One/55 get it and stop worrying about what other guys have. It's not a bad skate for the money, a pretty good bang for your buck.

I've had my One55s since the start of the season, and I've really liked them. I'm not really sure what I can say specifically about the liner, as I don't really notice it much one way or the other. It hasn't shown any signs so far of being any less durable than anything else I've had, and it's as comfortable as anything else I've used, although I do skate with socks on so your milage may vary if you go barefoot. I'm mostly used to Bauer Supremes (mostly 2000s) with a brief detour into Megas, and one pair of the previous-generation Vapors.

Overall, though, I've been extremely happy with my one55s. For the money they've really been everything I could have asked for.

Great skate for $200..I've got a pair and I wear them 2 nights a week on average, sometimes 3 nights a week. I bought my pair last June and they've held up nicely since then. I'm 6-2 237lbs and they're plenty stiff for me. As for the liner, it does its job and is hydrophobic.

I'm probably wrong but isn't there a one55 comp SMU or something like that which is essentially a one55 with a few one75 upgrades? I really don't know much about ice skates and which has what liner and such, but maybe it would be closer to what you want.

I have the Supreme Comps(One55 SMU for Source for Sports), they have the one75 liner and outsole, hope that helps.
