Difference between low/mid range sticks and high end sticks

Aside from whatever technical specs and differences there are between them, is there really a very noticeable difference between a $60 and a $200 stick? Like $140 worth of difference? Is your shot/puck feel really that much better? Im using a Vapor XII right now, and am trying to suppress the urge to blow my money on a nice stick. Does it make much sense to move up to a mid range stick or should you pretty much just go for it and get the best one?
