sniper#8

semin most under rated player?

Recommended Posts

in my opinion semin has to be in the top most under rated players in the leauge if no the most under rated.

i mean look at his total amount of skill sets he beats ovechkin overall,he has far better hands and a better shot in my opinion(release wise)

but i think the only thing thats kept him from stepping into the "superstar status" is that hes been plauged with injuries.

There was a tread similar to this early this season. Most agree that Semin is one of the better players in the league. I don't think anyone that knows hockey will doubt you there.

Lecavalier and St Louis had a mini game between eachother shooting pucks through the camera hole in the corner from above the circles. Let's just say Lecavalier doesn't miss often. This year I remember seeing Stamkos taking slap shots from below the faceoff circle, off the elbow and in 3 times in a row. Malone constantly knocking down pucks from 5-10 feet away in warmups. Smith shooting the puck over the glass in the corner from his crease and his 5-8 foot high saucer passes to the blueline from the goalline. (Sorry about going on about the Lightning but I get to see these things happen a lot)

Some of these NHL guys are soo beyond incredible that it's sickening. Semin is definitely one of them.

I shot that video

I didn't catch him taking the shot, just the after effect.

I've been saying for years that Semin is something special, since I won lower level tickets to the caps/panthers in his rookie year (our season tickets were up in 413, I'd never been lower level before). He was making plays there that I still shake my head at. From then on, my wife said it was OK to have a mancrush on him!!!)

EDIT: One of the other shooting drills I've seen semin do, but never caught it on camera (yet) was standing at the goal line on one end of the ice, and shooting to hit the posts and crossbar on the other end.

First time I saw it, I thought he was trying to shoot in goal, but then he hit post, crossbar, other post, crossbar, first post again, then missed, then hit a couple more posts. It was unbeliveable.

Remember his empty netter earlier in the season, where he basically shot without looking, just turned and hit a slapshot, but it went in, dead center of the net, I assume thats where a drill like the above comes in to play
