LightSpeed2/2.1 P question

Recommended Posts

I've got One95s but the longer runner's sort of a disadvantage.

Can I replace the ls2.1 steel with ls2 runners? It's the ls2 holder with blue.

If this has already been discussed please remove this topic.

yes you can, there is no real difference (except for the blue) betwemn the holders, they're one and the same, just the steel is different, longer on the blue holders (the ls 2.1 steel), but the holder is the same

Ahhh but that is where you are wrong my friend. The regular LS holder will only accept regular LS steel. The LS 2.1 Power holder was designed to accept both the standard steel and the 2.1 steel which is a few mm longer. Not everyone wants longer steel and thats why they designed the 2.1 to accept both.

there isn't a ls2.1 power holder, there is the ls2 holder and steel, the ls2 power holder and steel, and the ls2.1 steel that fits in the ls2 holder, and yes I was refering to the blue tuuk logo

I fitted some 2.1 steel to an LS2 holder last week (Vapor XXXX). Initially it didn't slide in properly on the front "hook" section, so I took it out and added a little oil on the steel and kept pressure on it as I tightened the back screw up and it went all the way in. However I've had a problem in the past with Power steel in the Power holder where it wouldn't slide all the way it on the front and was a little "springy". This wasn't the case with the 2.1 in the 40's but I wonder if it might come back out after being skated on.

Does anyone have any expereince with this? Official word from Bauer was that 2.1 was designed to be fitted on LS2 holders, nothing mentioned about Blue logos etc but it wouldn't be the first time they failed to explain the details.

The LSP2 holder on my left Supreme 70 is starting to crack near the toe. If I replace the holder, will I need to replace the steel as well? Would I be replacing it with another LSP2 or LS2 holder? Thanks.

LS2 Holder= LS2 steel

LS2 Power= LS2 Power steel

LS2.1 Power= LS2.1 steel or LS2 steel

The LS2.1 Power is the only holder designed to accept both the LS2.1P and LS2 steel

Sorry CTHockey, I might not have worded things clearly this morning since I was in a rush. I thought that one of the reasons why NBH replaced the LS2P on the One90s with the LS2 on the One95s was because the lexan had durability problems. Is this true? So then would it be better to replace the entire thing a LS2 holder + LS2.1 steel or just keep using the LSP2 holder and steel?

Thank you for the help guys.

Yes there was durability problems with the blue LS2Power lexan holders. Also, it makes a lot more sense the way they are doing it now.

The red graphic makes it impossible to accept the 2.1 steel.

IF it were me, i would replace both the holder and steel. I've replace more LS2Power steel and holders then i can keep track of. Very poor quality and durability issues. The new redesigned LS holder gives you the option to use either the LS2 or LS2.1 Power steel, as not everyone wants to use longer steel that comes stock in the one95.

there isn't a new design of the ls2 holder, it's the same thing, only the steel is longer, that's why its ls2.1 steel. if it was a new holder don't you think it would have been called ls3? the only difference is the blue logo, that's it

holy shit it's not that hard people.

if the holder is white, LS2 steel will fit, as will ls2.1

if the holder is lexan, you need special steel.

Thanks CTHockey. I'll follow your suggestion once it gives out soon.

the holes don't quite line up between ls2 and ls2p holders because the ls2p is annoyingly a little longer in mounting to the boot too. a good skate guy shouldn't have a problem with it...
