Rangers starting to win

Recommended Posts

Well I think its a possibility.

I'm not getting too excited until I see Henrik come out of this slump. A Stanley Cup team needs a Stanley Cup goaltender and in his current state, I'm not seeing it from Lundqvist.

The team itself seems to be coming into its own, we've been scoring these past few games. (not that Manny Fernandez is a good indicator of what we can do)

I am openly optimistic at this point. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst. Pretty much the only way I can keep from tearing the house apart these days. ^_^

Henrik's only real problem is over the shoulder i think

Last season I'd agree. This season it seems he has a lot more to worry about.

I don't remember the last time he stopped a breakaway, his ability to stay calm and composed in rebound situations has disappeared, his reaction time isn't where it should be.. the man is going through a garden variety slump.

Its not easy stopping a breakaway though..but yes iI agree with you.. he gave up a lot of rebounds today and got lucky with our Dman

3 wins, 2 against bad teams, isn't really a sign that we're headed to the playoffs. And yes, we are starting to win...but so are the Panthers, Pens, Canes, Sabres...we're all right in the same boat point-wise. Still a lot of hockey left for this pragmatic Rangers fan.

i can agree that nothing has been proven yet, though I have to say watching the last two games the team has stepped it up. he playing style under torts seems to be working, they are playing with a purpose and some drive.

these next few weeks will really tell us ranger fans if all the changes worked or not

Hey, win or lose, I at least don't want to stab myself in the face 90% of the time when I'm watching the Rangers powerplay now... so that's positive

Love them or hate them, but I think the Rangers got a steal/lucky in Avery and Antropov. I can't really comment on how much Avery brings to the Rangers because I have never seen him play for a prolonged period but it appears he brings an edge and can totally disrupt the other teams rythmn. Nikolai Antropov, now I think that is one of the biggest steals at the deadline. Come on, a 2nd round pick for a top six forward in his prime. People who have never seen him play for an extended period don't know what they are getting. Sure, he was injured and inconsistent for most of his early career. but thats how it is for some of the bigger forwards. They take time to develop. At 6'6" its hard to knock the puck off him, his vision and passing/hands are of a first line forward. The only problem is that don't expect him to start hitting and blocking shots. I think he is in a great situation as a 2nd line winger/power play specialist.

The road to the playoffs starts with beating the teams that you are supposed to beat. They were able to steal one from the B's yesterday thanks to the spotty play of Fernandez.

Seriously. Ask New Jersey about the Islanders.
