Farrell shoulder pad Fit questions

Recommended Posts

I have a recommendation for everyone who wears the farrell shoulder pads. I find that the velcro picks into my skin and also rips away at my dry fit shirt. I put cloth blade tape over the edges of the velcro and that problem has gone away.

they do run short on the abds. Maybe get warrior pants with the abd protector to make up for it.

What i did was buy some velcro adhesive squares ( http://www.concordsupplies.com/_webcache/vek90072_1_1.jpg ) and glued them on the compression blocks itself to prevent any tearing of my undershirt and also the inside liner of the shoulder pads.

YOu can also stitch them on to make sure the adhesive/glue doesnt peel off to to sweat.

I've been in Farrells about a year now and I love em. I'm 5'9" 200lbs and I have senior size medium and they fit great. Not sure what happened with the person that said the large was odd sized. Might have recieved a mislabel or a youth size. They do run a little short, but I don't like so much extra stuff in my midsection. To counter how short they are, I have a friend that took the removable ab protector off another brand and sewed it to his set. As far as checking goes, I've never had an issue with them, course when you're my size most guys can't butt end you.

Well... it doesn't need to be THAT much protection.

Anyone every try on Itech's?

You've probably already found a pair of shoulder pads already but I've had my Itech 655TL for 2-3 years now. Protection-wise they are awesome. They're very well made and don't restrict my motion much. The only complaint I have is putting on your jersey becomes more difficult because it tends to get caught on the spine protector.

I bought a pair of Farrells last season and love them. I am 5' 6" , 160 lb with a 37" chest and went with the XS and they fit nicely. I think if I went to a small they would be loose and a less protective fit. As has been stated in this post they do run short so don't expect much ab protection, but they feel great, no bulk. Hope this is a help to anyone small in stature thinking about Farrells.

Thanks - I ended up buying CCM V10s and wore them for about a month. At first I was ok with them but eventually I sold them on EBay. I couldn't breathe. Way too much stuff going on. I felt like an encased sausage. I'm gonna stick with my old Easton Synergy 900s. Plenty of protection and by comparison they feel pretty lite and are well broken in.
