Easton S17 Skates

Recommended Posts

a little off topic but s15's remind me of FORD. Fix Or Repair Daily. :P

Really? I have had my S15's for quite a while now with ZERO problems.

I had them and didn't have any durability problems either. I sold them because I hated the tongues, could not tie up the top eyelet and I did not like the heel lift which I removed after 1 game. With the top eyelet unlaced and the forward pitch I ended up stumbling all over the rink like I've never skated before, it was embarrassing. The skates were ridiculously light but other than that I don't have anything good to say about them. I ended up getting a new pair of 1500C's. Now it's time for new skates again and I'm deciding between One95's or the S17's, I don't think I can purchase the S17's since I'm afraid of the tongues. They re-did them but I have my doubts.

The tongues in the S-17 are much better than in the S15's. They've also addressed the durability issues so the outside leather pieces aren't separating as easily. Actually its a pretty decent skate if you like Easton skates. I personally find the tongues on the S-15 and S-11's great because they allow very good forward flex but that's a personal preference. I know a lot of guys didn't like them, as well as the inner fabric mesh liner. The S-17 has a regular foam/felt tongue and they've gone back to the lytex type liner. Their a bit more like the 1500C's.
