Magnesium chassis on eBay?

Recommended Posts

Not trying to sell anything in this thread, I know that's against the rules.

I'm thinking about buying a pair of 2008 Boss skates, swapping in my aluminum chassis, and selling the magnesium ones off. I'll be playing outdoors quite a bit and it's just not worth it to ruin such an expensive frame. Has anyone had any success selling these on eBay? I couldn't find any auctions for any mag chassis, and I'd rather not do it unless I'm sure I can get at least 100 for them.

Chassis only? Prolly not, but you never know.... Bauer buying Mission might make people all misty so they pony up for the Cadillac of roller frames. You could put in a high reserve, but that often scares away potential buyers.

But why would u go through the trouble.... lots of hassle to make a few bucks, when u could just go out and skate.

But why would u go through the trouble.... lots of hassle to make a few bucks, when u could just go out and skate.

Mainly because I just don't need them, I'm mostly looking for a great boot that will provide a comfortable, stiff fit and last a while. So if I could sell off the frame and put on the good aluminum one that i already have, that makes the Boss around the same price as the Lieutenant with a little bit better boot.

Plus, I always end up grinding down the metal on the corners of the chassis on the outdoor court, so it just seems silly to do that to top-end frames.

I'll probably just go with the Lieutenants unless I'm positive I'd be able to sell the mag frames for a fair price, but thanks for the input and if anyone else has any it'd be greatly appreciated.

I had sold 2 sets of mag chassis from my Boss skates but I included the wheels and bearings with one of the sets and just wheels with the other set. The set with wheels and bearings sold for around $180 and the other set with the wheels sold for a little over $100.

Got what you are looking for... boss blacks in size 8.5D already mounted on a Mission Alu chassis, brand new... dont fit me. Also with all the hoarding I've done, I need to clear out some mg chassis...

Let me know via PM

I'm considering an ice to inline conversion (runner snapped and holder cracked on Supreme 70s) and was planning on using these Mission magnesium chassis. Hopefully you guys can help me out with a few questions because I haven't kept up to date on inlines.

1) The Supreme 70s are 5.5 EE. How are Bauer sizes compare to Mission boot sizes? From what I've read, I should opt for the small chassis size, but I wanted to confirm with you guys.

2) If it is the small chassis size, then is the hi-lo wheel size 68-68-72-72?

3) Aside from the chassis, axles, spacers, bearings, and wheels, am I missing anything else to do the conversion?

Thank you very much for any advice.

1) you should be about a size 6 or 6.5 in Missions, which equates to a small chassis

2) I've had a small chassis, and they used 76-76-80-80 for the vanguard chassis... not sure if you were refering to the Mission magnesium MG chassis, or the vanguard

3) are you mounting these yourself? if you are doing it yourself you need the mounting hardware (RMS, tnuts or the like)

Thanks fatwabbit. I'm going to try to do this myself following zfyfe's guide. In the process of collecting parts before I start. Only thing that's still up in the air is whether to go with 608 or 688 bearings for asphalt.
