shaft reccomendation

Recommended Posts

hey guys, im a 6'4 215LB defenseman thats looking to go two peice. ive been using one90's and my blade is starting to crack and give up. i play in c and b leagues and rat hockey, im on the ice 2-4 times a week and some of my skates get fairly chippy(typical c league). ive decided to go two peice becasue i cant really afford a new one peice every 3-5 months when mine start breaking down. after playing with the one90 i cant really go to a low end stick becasue they feel dead and heavy to me. i mainly take wrist and slapshots frmo the point but do poinch in offensively quite a bit. i like an 87 flex becasue my upper body isnt super strong and cant get great loading on wristers and snappers with a 102 flex.

im trying to decide between the one95, st, or 8k shaft. i havent really read any reviews of the new 8k on this site. would a low kickpoint stick work well for slappers? ive noticed alot of nhl dmen using se16s and dolomites, which are also low kick. i want durability, and a good shot, also lower weight would be nice, or at least something that will be well balanced. any recommendations? all are basically the same price so money really isnt an issue. i know the st will be the most durable, but does it perform as well as the others? or nearly as well to compensate for its probably longer lifetime?

If you can find a 10k shaft online, go for it. They're extremely light yet durable. Also, the One95 shaft with the One95 blade combo is pretty sweet.

I myself would probably go with the One95 shaft before any of the others. I do own an Easton ST OPS, but never the shaft. For $85 I think the One95 shaft performs as well as any of the other $110+ shafts out there.

I own 3 One95 shafts, 2 10K shafts, a 2 yr old Rbk 7k sickkick (tapered) shaft and a TPS XN10 redlite shaft..

I use the One95s and 10Ks pretty much exclusively. They both take the standard blade and I'm a huge fan of the One95 blade.

One95 shaft. It is by far my favorite shaft up to date. Mine have been durable, yet fairly light. I've used the One95 OPS and I like the 2-piece just as much.

I have been thinking about picking up another 4 or so One95 shafts, they are def. on the top of my list for shafts.
