Insoles that don't lift the heel

Recommended Posts

I'd like some more arch support than the stock vapor 60 insoles provide, altough they're not really too bad, but all the aftermarket insoles I've ever tried out seem to lift the heel more than stock insoles, which I don't like. Are there any particular aftermarket insoles that don't lift the heel? I think superfeet actually advertises that their insoles lift the heel a little.

I can't link anything because I am on my iPhone, but go to shopping.google.com and search arch support. The first few entries show the options you have for just adding arch support. None of them are going to be of big name brands like super feet or shock doctor.

After a lot of trial and error, I've found the black Superfeet to be really good for my fit. Good arch support, but there isn't the heel lift like the yellow Superfeet.

Heat moldable insoles are your best bet regarding this issue.

I acutally got the graf / sidas heat molded insoles, and don't like them.

I got a set done last week at a LHS here in Toronto. The improvement in comfort is unbelievable. Worth every penny IMHO.

If you're going to get a pair, get them molded and fitted by a professional.

Where did you get them done?

A local rink, and the only place I know of around here that does them (so. cal.). I can't say they didn't do them correctly, but I just don't care for the way they fit, especally as compared to the plain superfeet black insoles. I find the superfeet to give me better arch support and don't raise my heel like the graf / sidas insoles do.

My heel sunk into the skate. The heat moldable insoles are designed NOT to raise the heel.

Yup.

It is entirley possible mine weren't fitted / trimmed right. The custom ones I got are much wider than the stock soles, including in the heel, so I'm thinking now they aren't really fitting down all the way in the heel.

Where did you have them done? I got a pair made at TSC, they did a good job. I believe one person there is much better than everyone else they have at making them, PM me if you need his contact info...

It was TSC. I don't know the name of who did it, but he seemed to know what he was doing. I may try to trim the insoles a little myself to get them to fit better; doesn't seem like too hard of a thing to do.
