Mission Pants

Recommended Posts

All, I am checking into a new set of pants, and I have come across two that are in my price range. They are an older pair of Mission L-5's and the more recent Mission 110 Fuels. The L-5's are priced $20 more than the 110's. Any opinions on the quality of these pants? They seem to be about the same quality, but I am a bit confused as to why the older pair would be slightly more expensive. Would the L-5's be more equivalent to the more current Fuel 120's? I do like the two piece pant, since I need to lengthen them more than most people do. Any help would be appreciated.

The L-5 is about the equivilent to the Fuel 110, the L-6 to the Fuel 120. Either pant is a great bang for the buck and offers great protection and have fantastic ventilation features. The Fuel 110's are the more recent version and if their $20 cheaper than the L-5's they are a better buy. You could also spend the extra and get the 120's if they are in stock, then your getting Missions top of the line model.

I've got the 110's (paid $80 a while ago), ripped a hole in the rear after a fair amount of use but I'm still wearing them. They're both mobile and protective. If you can get them for anything like what I paid, they're definitely worth it.

I ended up buying the Fuel 120's. I must say that after using them for about 3 months that they are pure crap. The crotch and the whole back of the pant has so many holes that it looks like swiss cheese. The belt ripped off of them, and many of the seams are starting to split. The front of the pant still is in good shape. Why they used a lighter material in the back and cheap elastic fabric in the crotch is beyond me. It looks like Mission was starting to have quality problems right before their demise, because my daughter wears a pair of M1's and those are great. I would warn anyone thinking of buying this pant to think again. Even at clearance prices they are not worth it.

Sorry to hear that, I got 2 full seasons out of mine and I'm still wearing them now and again if my RBKs are drying. Theres still 1 small tear in the crotch area I did about a year after buying them, but it hasn't worsened since. To be fair, I spend my fair share of time on the floor and they've held up pretty well.
