Snap shot

Recommended Posts

i think u guys r still thinking of like a snap shot like a lil slap shot wind up though i mean pretty much a wrist shot with a snap at the end.

like pull from behind you then snap getting the flex.

Sounds like a wristshot to me. All you are doing it loading up so you can get the stick to flex. I don't know of anyone playing at a competitive level who doesn't snap off all of their shots.

It seems like this almost comes with age and skill. I learned a very young age a big long wrist (or sweep shot) is pretty ineffective. Just pull the puck like your saying lean into your shots and transfer your body weight. Snap your wrists, it'll be mostly practice and repetition. Set up a place to shoot and practice, ideally with real pucks.

Watch Sakic, with him its just on his stick, a little flick of the wrist, goal. Its not an incredibly hard shot, but its extremely deceptive. I use it about 90% of the time.

i was going to say the same thing-watch the way sakic shoots. In an interview, he said he gets all his power from his legs when he shoots and lets the stick do the rest. I found this the other day-here

scroll down to game #32 against the la kings and at about the 45 second mark sakic scores using his patented snap shot. hope this helps
