Backwards I know but; Inline in Winter?

Recommended Posts

I know I think completely backwards (relating to my ice pick up in winter,) but I was wondering if there was any way to play inline hockey in the winter months but inline? I want to play inline next season and although I am a strong skater on ice I was never able to rollerblade well. This is a weird thread / question to ask and hopefully this thread will be buried if it’s not possible.

I don't think it's weird at all. Ice rinks are too cold for me in the winter and inline rinks are too hot in the summer.

Anyhow, if all you want to do is work on your inline skating, see if their are any rollerskating rinks (yeah, the old fashioned kind that has music, arcade games and carnival food) that offer public skating. Bring your roller hockey skates and you've got skating practice.

The only league I know of in the GTA area that you can play in the winter is Rink City in Mississauga. It's not the greatest place to play (rink is smaller than regulation size - maybe half? the website says 23m x 53.5m) and overall, the facility is pretty crappy..but it is a league that you can practice your skating in. They have a fall league coming up which runs until January and then a Winter league starts up until April (at which point you can choose between another Mississauga league which runs out of Hershey centre or York Inline)

Hope this helps.
