Where is a good place to buy tapered blades around Toronto?

Recommended Posts

I usually shop for hockey equipments at National Sports & SportChek around the Toronto area. I don't ever recall seeing tapered blades at these stores.

Are there any other hockey shops in around the GTA that sells composite tapered blades for decent prices?

Thanks

I have been to Pro Hockey Life inside Vaughan Mills a couple times...don't recall seeing any tapered blades there. Besides, their prices are ridiculously expensive unless you get them on sale.

Where is Majer Hockey?

Hockey Experts usually advertise their shafts and blades as buy one, and get 50% off the second one. It might help you a little. I vaguely remember seeing some Easton Synergy Elites and Warrior Dolomites, but it's been a while.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but what's a tapered and a non-tapered replacement blade? (Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.)

I've been looking for replacement blades as well. Though it may not be tapered, I've found that Hockey Experts, National Sports, and Pro Hockey Life carry the most variety of replacement blades while Canadian Tire and Sport Chek carry the least variety. If you're looking for the the cheapest replacement blades in terms of cost, your best bet are Canadian Tire and Sport Chek.

Forget about those stores for tapered blades. You've got to go to a hockey store and they're expensive...

Also there's thehockeyshop.com and cyclonetaylor.com.

Tapered blades have a thinner tenon that goes in a shaft that narrows at the bottom. They're made to replicate the feel of a OPS. I can barely tell the difference between my synergy Two peice setup and a Top end synergy for example. Sticks like the Dolo are basically tapered two piece sticks with a more permanent bond.

Because of that, tapered blades are always top end blades, and typically run about 60 bucks US. They will not fit in a standard shaft.

Thanks for explaining the difference between a tapered and a non-tapered replacement blade.

Hockey Experts carries the Easton SE16/Elite model, but currently only in Sakic, Forsberg/Zetterberg and Iginla curves. We also stock the Warrior Dolomites, but currently only Drapers and Federovs. Our system portal indicates we'll be carrying all other retail-available curves at some point in the future.

No tapered woodies, though. Never carried them in the past, probably never will, which is a shame.

I'd like to know also. Anyone tried them?

I bought my tapered blades from hockeymonkey. 2 Mission pro stock at 15$ each but UPS brokage fees were 30$ so...
