i need to paint my helmet. i have a white one, but i dont want to spend the money on a new one. what kind of paint would you suggest using for this ?

boy it probly would chip of real easy id just go for like a bauer 4000 and those arent too bad on your walet

I thought you arnt allowed to paint helmets because it weakens the plastic

Depends on the paint whether or not it will eat the plastic. I wouldn't recomend painting it though, 'Wings13 is right, the paint just falls off really easily. It'll get all over your gear in your bag.

Just buy a new one man, you dont want to start messing with what protects your brain.

Any paint will void the certification of the helmet and will make it unfit for play in any USA Hockey or Hockey Canada sanctioned game.

In addition to voiding warranties and making a mess of your bag, the paint could also chip all over the ice. Players can step on these chips, lose an edge, and risk injury. You'll have to buy a new helmet.

Aren't those cool helmets used by the Michigan Wolverines painted? Or are those yellow "flames" stickers? I've also seen some German team with painted helmets (Mannheim was here in town some years ago and theirs looked painted as well).
