Pants... Sr 46 vs Jr 180

Recommended Posts

I'm a small guy at 5'6 and about 135 lbs on a good day so even the Reebok pants i'm wearing now at senior small I have to tighten the strap until it won't go anymore and even then they really don't want to stay. They're also quite long on me going well below the knee.

More specific question is I if I were to grab a junior 180 would I be better off? I'm sure the waist size would be better but would the pants be significantly shorter?

I'm looking at the Graf 500s in particular.. I had these before and I really want to get back into a pair

46 / 30" / 77 cm. / X-Small

160 / 5' 3" - 5' 7" / 110 - 140 lbs

180 / 5' 11" - 6' 3" / 140 - 170 lbs

Thats the Graf size chart from hockeymonkey which doesn't help.. It doesn't appear to be right

Using Tacklas suggestion...

180 / 5'4" - 5'7" / 28" - 30"

It would appear that a 180 would be worth trying.. I don't have a local shop that sells either Grafs or Tacklas so I can't try either.

Well, if you're looking at the Graf pants, it would make sense to follow the Graf sizing chart. They are 2 different pants and might fit just that differently. If you can't go try them on, best bet is to follow the chart for the pants you want.

Take a look at Tackla. Great pants with lots of options in terms of sizing. Not at work right now so don't know what they'll do exactly especially for JR pants but I'm pretty sure they do husky fits, narrow fits, +1 sizing. I'll take a look and get back to you tomorrow. As far as sr 46 to jr 180 goes, I think the only difference would be the waist and how roomy the thighs are. Length will be very close if not the same.

Being of similar size as you (5' 6", 126 lbs. 29" waist), I went through the same sizing debate when getting Tacklas. From what I tried and remember looking up, the waist of the 180 and 46 seemed the same with the 46 being slightly longer. I eventually managed to squeeze into a pair of 160s that were difficult to put on for the first month, but now are perfect.
