X-blade

Recommended Posts

Someone have ever try the X-blade http://www.xblades.net/en/index.php ? I would like to have some feedback before buying considering that the cost is 3x the one of a step steel velocity. In the link above, there is some sort of a review, but they look like knowing well the blade manufacturer so I would prefer more neutral feedback.

Thank you

I had them and what they say on h2k is 100% right.the best blade i ever had my hand on.The glide is better but where the blade shine is on the turns...its crazy and the hollow is different.

i'm just wondering whether or not this can be considered "performance enhancing" like the overdrive was back in the day for goalies, or is this the same effect for goalies without the installation of the overdrive?

Thank you for the comments. Sound like a very good blade.

Just finally try them last week-end. On tight turn it is just incredible! Even if I'am still at the point where i'm not used to turn so tight and think I will start to slide, it didnt take me long time to be used to them for regular skating comming from LS2. As you said also the glide is significantly better thanks to the 1 inch and half hollow. Definitely a major improvement in blade technology.

About the quality of the steel, since they are made by Step Steel, the quality is pretty similar to them.

The problem with x blades is that as the blade is worn down through sharpening, you'll need to change your ROH in order to maintain the same amount of blade to ice contact/bite.

My gf and I used them.

My g/f still does and she swears by them even tho the team trainer hates sharpening them lol
