Navy with navy reebok 8k helmet?

Recommended Posts

You won't find them at equipment sales because of liability issues. Ebay is an option, or get to know the equipment manger of your local ECHL team or whatever.

Just cover the subshell with navy electrical tape, from 5 feet away it all looks the same. Custom orders have a minimum order number, I want to say 12 but I'm far from an expert when it comes to Rbk.

you could special order through your lhs.

mine offered, but i ended up going with black on black due to the whole instant gratification thing.

that all depends on what your LHS's policy is for special orders. from my experience, i've never had to pay a premium, all they've asked is for a 100% deposit upfront and time for the product to arrive.

the best way to find out is to ask, because every store owner/manager has a different opinion on fulfilling special orders. some love going the extra mile, some refuse.

How about just spray painting the subshell? Some regular plastic paint or tinted paint should do. Haven't tried it on my 8K but have thought about it.

That voids the certification and quite possibly makes the helmet unsafe to wear.

The San Jose Sharks always have a table loaded with helmets at their equipment sales.

Probably with a warning that the used helmets are not intended to be worn and are for display purposes only somewhere to cover their asses.

Yeah I could see how it would definitely void the certification if you modified it. Painting the carbon inserts(which are simply glued on) on the subshell shouldn't render the helmet unsafe in my limited and very uneducated experience ;) . As far as I can tell those things are for show since they don't even cover the entire helmet just the areas you can visibly see them. One of those inserts actually fell off on my helmet when it became unglued only a couple months after I had my 8K.

While I'm also not positive, anything that changes that bonds with the plastic/foam is going to change the make up of it and there's no telling what you'd get.

That's not to say it would do absolutely nothing as well.
