Need help

Recommended Posts

Ok I recently bough ta pair of Flexlie 4.0's coming from RBK 9K's.

The Flexlites feel and fit 100 times better, but I feel like I skate better in the 9K's?

Does this have to do with the holder, steel, pitch?

And what would be the quickest / cheapest fix? Have the Flexlites Radiused or have E-pro's put on them?

Thanks for any help in Advance

Does this have to do with the holder, steel, pitch?

The ePro has a longer radius and is pitched forward a bit more than the Tuuk. You could have the Flexlites profiled to match the radius/balance that you feel in the 9K's

The other thing that could be causing the issue is support. I have skated in 9k's briefly and have tried on the Flexlites, so I don't have too much local knowledge on both skates, but based on what I did feel the 9k's fit more snug. A really comfortable fit in the LHS doesn't always mean a better performing skate. I have had many a pair of skates, and the best skating I have done were with skates that fit pretty tight. Skates should fit as close to being an extension of your foot as possible. While that should not be painful, IMO I wouldn't call it really comfortable. If there is any extra space in the Flexlites then that could be tha cause of your loss of performance.

How many times have you skated on the flexlites?

I have worn both but never skated on the 4.0's so i can't comment about the on ice difference.

Might have to get used to the difference in stiffness.

But getting them radiused to Epros would be the cheapest, if you have to get heel lifts also you might aswell just get Epros.

I have both flexlites and rbk's with tuuk lightspeeds on both skates. The rbk's definitely performs better than the flexlites, and I also find the rbk's to have a better fit except for the heel.
