Hi, has anyone got or used these skates and have any good or bad comments about either skate? Also i wanted to know if the pump breaks on the reeboks are the skates still usable? is the pump neccessary to get full ankle support?

The pump is more for heel lock than ankle support. So if the pump breaks, yes, you can use it. However, if you had to pump it alot to achieve acceptable heel lock you're screwed.

I had a pair of RBK 8ks :

Good: Lightweight, comfortable boot, lasted well if cared for properly.

Bad: The chassis. There's no internal bracing between the sides of the frame, if you over-torque the axles, it's super easy to get the wheels to bind up. Basically you have to tighten it very carefully and re-tighten frequently to get decent performance out of it. I got tired of this pretty quickly. The lace locks are also pretty flimsy.

My Vector 10's are great. They're light and durable. They're a great all-around skate. I haven't tried the 8k. I liked the v10's so much I bought a second pair for whenever my current pair breaks down.

Anyone else had this problem with either of these skates? If so does the performance of the skates outweigh the chassis problem? Also aside from this problem with the chassis has anyone has any durability problems with it, are they as reliable as say the vanguard?

Ive also come across these older rbk 8k skates, they have my size are they worth a go over the new models?

You don't need the pump, but if you bust the pump you really wasted some cash cause I half the reason those things are so much money is cause reebok puts the pumps on them.
