Roller hockey Penalty killing

Dump the puck everytime you get it?

If you have good guys, pass back and forth until you kill it off.

Have 2 guys stay back deep on defense and 1 guy float up top?

I don't know what kind of answer you're looking for.

Kind of depends on the the set up of the power play.

You can keep one guy up high and two low.

Two up high one low.

Try a Rotating triangle.

You can even line up everyone in a straight line.

Again, it really depends on how the PP sets up.

We always did a 1 up 2 back triangle. It might have something to do with us being in a bad league so the other team's pp was not exactly properly set up either. Not a knock on the league, just how it seemed to work out.

1 high 2 low is pretty standard and if you can read the PP at all it's pretty effective. Too many times I see people stay way too stationary on the PK in roller in a triangle and get burned from the puck movement and a quick shot. If it's on your side challenge enough that the opponent has to do something with it, but don't go chasing and leave a gaping hole for a 2 on 1 or 3 on 2

A triangle formation is usually standard. However sometime people do an upside down triangle with two people up top and one down low.

thanks for the replies. i'm more interested on how to defend the PP square type (2 players back and 2 others forward). Is there any website to see some graphic explanation?

Thanks again

So what to do when the other team plays the box? First, think of what they are trying to do. A lot of the time in roller when a team runs the box the top two guys pass back and forth until the top player on the PK dedicates to one of them. Then the other top guy either shoots or now has a lane to walk in. So probably hold the middle and don’t over commit to one of the top guys, just keep them outside passing back and forth. There are some other variations of what teams will do in the box but if you play a solid triangle PK you should be fine.

another aspect is to let the Goalie take the long shots and dont give an easy lane or dont over commit. and always watch the slot

^^ nothing like sneaking in to score from a rebound (the smaller girls we play with are notorious and really good at this)

If you find a good site diablo, post it up.
