So, this year im gonna be playing right wing instead of center. Any stuff i need to know? I know that its about the same as center, its just i dont know my responsibilities on the ice.

Anything will help. I got a gam comming up soon, so i need to get my stuff together.

Thanks guys

I'm a believer that there are no forward positions once the puck is dropped, but basically as a winger you're looking at sticking to your halfboards, corner, and point while in the defensive end, and in the offensive end who knows. It'll all depend upon the system being implemented. On ever hockey team I've played on, you basically cycle between positions depending on who's nearest to the puck.

for defensive zone, you want to be covering the point when the opposing team has possession, right around the outer hashmarks when theres a battle behind the net or when your team recovers - ready to receive the first pass for break out.

in the offensive zone, its a total toss up because there's so many variables... just try to get open and either rip a quick shot or jump on a rebound. the defensive coverage in front of the net in my league is so solid, i usually just focus on trying to pull one of them out of the way to create chances for shots from the point or to create room for my hulking centre to muscle one in.
