One95 vs X60 stick

Recommended Posts

I played for the first time with my new One95 last night. It definitely shoots well but the first thing I noticed is how much harder it is to feel the puck than with a vapor stick. The only way I can describe it is a kind of "dead" feeling in the stick, like you're cut off from the puck. It makes sense since the vapor line is supposedly for more puckhandling and finesse while the one95 is raw power. Maybe I'll get used to it though.

No, that's just you being used to the ceramic, lifeless feel of the Vapor series. The One95 is known for having arguably some of the best puck feel ever for a composite OPS. Two completely different feels and kickpoints, but don't fall prey to Bauer's marketing that each line of stick will enhance or is better for a certain style of play.

The vast majority of people think that the Vapors feel completely dead, due to their lackluster and odd puck feel. The One95s are known for being responsive, yet "soft" in terms of feel.

:(

It certainly felt that way. Hopefully I just need a few more hours with the stick.

The One95 is one of the best sticks I've ever used, great in durability and performance. Too bad the P88 has too much of a rocker for me, which is why Im switching to Eastons..

I'm actually trying a few different composites after going back to wood for awhile and it took me a couple of skates but so far I am liking the One95 most (comparing across Warrior DD and the X60). Did not like it at all at first.

Shooting is about the same across the 3 but I am liking the feel of the One95 the most. Still not as good as the woodie but probably won't ever get a comp like that in my skating lifetime.

The One95 blade gives about the closest feel to wood that has existed thus far.

And is anyone else a little scared that with the change in the blade on the TotalOne, we might lose that? Specs are very close to that of the Vapor blade and I had a Bauer rep say they are essentially the same blade now. I hope they're wrong as I love my One95 feel.

Really? I thought we'd heard that despite the outer visible similarity in TexTreme material, the inside was just an updated (stronger and lighter) material inside.

I'm just going with what was in the specs, which if you read are very close to the Vapor specs, and what a rep told me.

Now, we all know reps can be full of crap and often the last to know anything actually correct, so I'm not taking it as gospel by any means. I also know that what is on the outside of the blade also means nothing.

I'm just going by the way Bauer describes it in literature is close to sounding like the Vapor one, and what this rep said.

As I said, I hope they're wrong and maybe if JR has any additional insight or even seen or played with the stick he can put our minds at ease.

I heard the same which is why when the '10 One95s go on sale, I may have to poach and hoard....
