Hockey shop in Chicago

Recommended Posts

I'll be in Chicago for the next 24 hrs. Anyone know a place I can visit that has a big selection and/or a pro stock

selection. Really looking to go somewhere to see a big selection- not just a little shop. Anyone know anything?

The only somewhat "big name" shop around here in the suburbs that i know of is Total Hockey, but they don't have a very big selection (as opposed to Canadian shops) and rarely have any pro stock equipment. You can try Hawquarters downtown, but I've been told their merchandise is ridiculously expensive.

All the big shops are on the outskirts/burbs of the city.

The only place in the city is a Gunzo's pro-shop and Johnny's Ice House in the west Loop near the United Center. No pro-stock (that I know of) though.

Gunzo's has two regular stores. On way North, one West.

Total Hockey is out in Downer's Grove.

Jerry's is way west too I think. never been.

Hawks Quarter's downtown used to sell gear, but I read here they recently stopped.

the gunzo's inside of johnny's ice house is the size of a washroom and the selection sucks. don't even bother with that place. the only prostock i've seen were gloves. and they were toew prostock gloves and they were at the morton grove gunzos'. jerry's in schaumburg has a nice selection of stock stuff but no prostock. total hockey in schaumburg is closer then the one in downers grove and they don't have prostock. the rest of the shops are small rink shops with basics. as far as BLACKHAWKS STORE formally known as hawks Quarters had sticks, skates, socks, jersey's and a couple of other things but i was told they don't carry prostock anymore. not sure if thats true or not but you can call and ask 312-464-2957

if you want to go to shops these are the places.

Gunzo-morton grove.

Jerry's hockey warehouse-schaumburg

total hockey-schaumburg.
