Stick break near handle

My rbk broke in two just 12 inches from the butt end while pushing a player lightly. Anyone else break a stick there? Seems like a strange thing.

Yeah my sticks break all the time from "lightly" playing.

The old Vector and first generation RBK sticks used to break up high all the time. I was at an AHL game the other night and mentioned to my buddy that we only saw one broken stick all game, where we would usually see five or six in a period just a couple years ago. That said, sticks last a lot longer when you use them on the puck and not the player.

Saw two NHL practices this year at work and was surprised that I only saw 1 broken stick. Freakish.
