RBK/Jofa shoulder sizing question

What size RBK/Jofa shoulders do you Medium sized - i.e. 5'10" 165 - guys wear? The size 4 (S/M) or size 5 (L)?

I've always worn a medium in other manufacture's shoulders...

(btw, i'm asking because I unfortunately live in a place where my LHS's carry no RBK protective)

I'm 5'8" 170 and use a M size 10K shoulder pad.

Get the size that correlates to your chest size and you will be fine. A medium fits chest sizes between a 38 and a 42 and a large fits 40-44. You may be right in between the two sizes and be able to get away with either one.

Apologies, i think i wasn't clear enough.

Until this year (i believe) RBK/Jofa did not make a size Medium shoulder pad. They had the following sizes:

• 4: Small/Medium
  
• 5: Large
  
• 6: XL/XXL
  

This confuses me because I have a 39-40" chest (which i believe falls right between their 4 and 5) and in other manurfactures (bauer/ccm/etc...) a large is too big, and a small is too small.

My question is, for those of you that went from a Medium in another manufacture to a RBK/Jofa shoulder pad, what size did you get - 4 or 5?

I'm in medium Bauer's now, was in medium Itech, JOFA/RBK sizing was size 4 (S/M). My chest size is the same as yours.

The confusing thing is that different places on the web list the sizes differently. For example, the Hockey Stop has "4 - Small, 5 - Medium": http://www.hockeystopohio.com/Rbk/shoulder/sp6k07.htm
