AFAIK the only way to get stuff shipped cheap to Europe (USPS, rather than DHL, UPS etc.) is to have them shipped to someone you know in the US and have them forward it to you. Alternatively, if you can get a group order in you can split the cost. It wont cost $90 for 1, $180 for 2 etc. because it doesn't cost much more to ship 2 or 3 sticks then it does 1.

hockeymonkey, icewarehouse and all other sites have HUGE shipping fees, for a pair of socks and a stone, monkey charges the same as for a pair of skates, 80$ (to Romania). For europeans, the cheapest way is to find a good ebay seller and buy from him. That way you'll get a better price, cheap shipping and most of them are good guys and will declare a lower value on the products so the taxes and duties won't kill you.

On the other hand you could try monkey.eu and you won't pay any taxes when they arrive (no duties charged in the EU space), and just for the fun of it, try to buy something from hockeygiant and see what they charge for shipping LOL

There is a site where you can get your gear send to there warehouse in VA and they ship it to EU. I just done that and i will get my goods on friday i think. Because they are based in VA you can get gear that is not shipped outside US :D .

It is this site:

http://www.shopusa.com/shopusail/countries...n=startshopping

I got gear from underarmour.com, hokeymonkey.com, greatskate.com and totalhockey.net all in the same shipment out of the us :D. You can see the cost of the handling and shipping on the site before you buy anything.

Please let us know how it goes, I was looking at companies to do this just for some T-Shirts from the US and they needed to see photocopies of your passport and credit card before they'd send you anything. Do they request anything like that? I've not got anything to hide, but I'm not prepared to give photocopies of confidential stuff to someone that I dont think needs it.

Just wanted to point out that someone requesting photocopies of your passport and credit card smells like a scam from many many miles away. With that knowledge I don't think they even need your credit card's pin number to empty it, so be very carefull. Also, be very careful with money transfers using Western Union, that to is also very risky and should not be trusted (I know this from a bank employee).

They do it so they know who's been using their service if anything happens.. like people using them to ship lots of counterfeit goods or something. I didnt get that far with the sign up process, but I read in reviews that alot of the big companies like MyUS and USA2Me etc require that stuff. Dunno how true it is, its not first hand information!

Yes that sounds like a scam :( . Shopusa.com ships to a lot of places. They even has danish custom service. I called and emailed them a couple of times as some of the gear i ordered was on backorder. If the gear comes all right next week i am thinking of having my custom skates shipped that way when they are finished hopefully in two weeks time :D

Taking my credit card number securely via encrypted SSL is fine, me sending them a scan of my credit card front and back via email isn't what I'd call secure. I dont see why they should have to see my passport, I dont think its any of their business and I wouldn't like to think where that kind of information could end up.

wait.. hockeymonkey asked for your passport?

not passport just photo ID. with that you are allowed to blank out ur birthdate and a major portion of the picture.. well we did anyway

You are allowed to blank out the middle numbers on your credit card

The reason hockey monkey asked for this was apprently because the order was over 1000 and been shipper international so anything could of happened.... if they do ask for it you only need to do it once and only show them what is neccesary which in Photo ID case would be Your Name, a slight portion of your face and your address

I bought several sticks over ebay and they were shipped fine to Austria. It is usually cheaper than anything you can get in europe, even with full tax applied. That said you will still shell out quite a bit of cash for the good stuff. Instead of 260€ you will pay 180-200€. And if you are lucky and it slips through customs you might even hover around 150€ a stick, but do not expect it.

Hmm - contacted a seller last night - USPS supposedly wont ship sticks as they're too long

Find another seller. The thing is as soon as you mention you are from Europe most sellers start to act like douchebags or cut communications straight off. I have bought several sticks from ebay and usually the shipping costs have been around $40 via USPS.

Just got the gear today :D . It worked very well with shopusa.com. No trouble at all. Worked just as the site says.

I was thinking that

Was very quick to respond and polite about it though, so thats cool. If he doesnt want to sell overseas, I can understand why - must get some hassle in some cases.

Its a real bummer though - he had 6 x Sherwood 7000 in left hand, mixed blades. Really wanted them! Was soo cheap compared to here in the UK - would have worked out the same price for 1 stick over here

I know the feeling ;)

It absolutely kills you when you have been looking something for ages and only thing stopping you to get it is a seller that wont ship to Europe.
