Tuuk LS2 Power Holder

Recommended Posts

This question is for anyone who had used LS2 power holders. I'm switching my cobra's to Tuuks and apparently the LS2 Power holders have longer steel so that the blade is on the ice longer so you skate faster, my question is can you still make good tight turns? my problem with the cobra is i can't make a quick tight turn all my turns are wide, straight up and down skating the cobra's are great but turning sucks

I would recommend the the old Tu'uk custom + and forgo the LS2, I have the LS2 and I"ve noticed my quick turns have taken a hit when compared to the older style Tu'uk which IMO is the best bang for your buck in a holder (note: I haven't tried the mission pitch)

simple logics say that if the steel is longer, the turns are wider.

long steel => greater speed, wider turns

short steel => less speed, tighter turns

My 2 cents, get the regular LS2 and if you still want longer steel put the LS2.1 steel in them. LS2Power are known for having problems and breaking easily

A 9' radius is a 9' radius regardless of how long the runner may or may not be.

so what are ya saying? the longer steel makes you faster but you still get tight turns?

jake, stay away from the power holders. go with custom+ or LS2. if you're on cobras, you've got an 11' radius right now. you CAN get the runners profiled to a 9' if you want, and save the hassle of mounting tuuks. if you're like me and want the 9' PLUS something new and exciting (yes, getting tuuks excited me), go for it and get the tuuk holders, just remember that the forward pitch on the tuuk system isn't as aggressive as a cobra, so you'll have to talk about heel lifts with your tech. i went from cobra holders to custom+ with a 9' radius and 1.5mm heel lift. first game was weird, but after that i felt right at home.

You might not even need heel lifts. I just switched from RBK's with E-Pro to Bauer with LS2, and while I felt a bit on my heels at the start of my first game with them, I felt very comfortable by the end of the game. But YMMV. You could always try it without the lifts and have them added later if you really can't get used to the pitch.

I think that's what i'll do because before the cobra's i was on tuuks
