mounting oakey visor on easton s9 helmet

Recommended Posts

i just picked up an easton s9 helmet and mounted up my oakey pro modified to it. i basically swapped everything over from my old bauer 4000 lid. i ended up removing easton's metal backing plates that were there stock and used screws and post nuts to mount everything up. i'm just curious how other people ended up putting on a visor on their easton helmet. the oakley visor pulls the helmet out just like my bauer even with fairly large spacers. i worried the pressure will end up cracking the helmet over time. the little "ribs" on the inside of the helmet plastic might help. should i mount everything up using the easton plate thing?

I have an Oakley straight on my s9. I used the metal backings innside the helmet, and the Oakley visor spacer kit to fit it onto the helmet. Doesn't put any stress on the helmet, and don't see anything happening to cause it to break. I had put the straight spacers and it was putting stress on the visor and helmet starting to warp the plastic/shield that's why I bought the Oakley kit...

Personally I would just throw the easton helmet out. I had the high end one (s15 i think) and I hated it. went out and dropped the 180 on an 8k. Best decision of my life. Also, if you like the vpn liner, why don't you just get a 4500 before they're impossible to find

What??? Just because the helmet did not work for you does not mean that this helmet does not work for him.

My advice is to get the Oakley spacer kit, it makes sure there is no undue stress on the visor or the helmet.

I have an Oakley straight on an S9 too... I also went with the Easton's metal backing plates & nylon washers... I also slid the visor a little closer to my face, and it relieved some of the "pull" it had on the helmet's temples. But for me, that's all personal preference.
