AHL Preseason

AS you can see by the title, I went to an AHL preseason game last night, it was the Philadelphia Phantoms vs. Norfolk Admirals, it was played at my local rnk, FLyers Skate Zone...besides the fact of it being a really dirty game, manymany many fights, I noticed the only sticks the players were using were Reeboks(two different kinds, one that says RbK and the other Reebok), and Vectors, no Synergies or anything, anyone know what's up with that? I tried to get some pics but I didn't have my camera...major bummer cuz i was right there... <_<

Players on all but two AHL yeams must have all of their gear from CCM, RBK, Koho or Jofa. Skates do not fall under the agreement but everything else does. We have discussed it a couple of times. You may be able to find either of the posts by searching.

Okay, does it say anything about why the equipment has to? And why isn't Easton involved with this, I always thought that Easton was top when it comes to equipment...

Just because Easton says they are the best doesn't mean they are. Then again, I don't think CCM is for the most part either. THC, the parent company of CCM, Jofa and Koho signed a contract with all but two of the AHL teams. When Reebok bought THC, they were also included on the deal. Only three players per team are permitted to use sticks by another company and any skates are permitted. All of the information is available if you use the search.
