Baking Bauer Flexlite 4.0 Pro's

Recommended Posts

I was told that this skate is not meant to be baked .. Is this true? I just bought a pair online and wanted to bake them at home, but if its gonna damage the skate then I obviously won't do it.

If you can bake them, what temp. and how long?

Thanks

Store isn't an option.. they said they won't bake them if they weren't bought there. I tried the 4.0's on at the store to get a feel for the skate and bought the better version from an online store..

Why would I buy the skate i didn't want? They said they don't carry the 4.0 pros .. only 4.0's.

And the website just tells you the specs of the skates.. not if they should be baked or not.

Dude, look at the specs on the link he gave you...."Thermomoldable" yes, you can bake them.

I agree though, if the store won't order the skates you want go online....BUT, if they sell the same skates at near the same price it is a dick move to use them as a fitting shop.

That store sounds terrible.

not baking them for you AT ALL? not even for an additional charge is ridiculous.

there's no reason you can't have these baked. I wouldn't recommend doing it at home. A longer drive to a different shop would be worth it.

Nope. They said they couldn't, didn't really give a reason though. They were also the people who said you couldn't bake them .. any reason for the reasoning?

sounds like a crappy store then. i guess what you did was ok then.

Even if you bake them at home, in your oven or a pro oven at a store, it still isn't ok to skate on them after they've been just baked. You should wait some time, best is something like 24 hours so all the resins and glue are hard again.

My 2 cents of an advice, don't do it at home, seems to me you've never done this before and it would be a shame to destroy a brand new pair of skates.
