what about the Easton Stealth S5 Shaft? Its pretty cheap in price and with the ability to change blades...its more bang for my buck.

Other than its price, what's so special about the S5? ALL shafts have the ability to change blades...

+1 on calling up tsr. from what ive heard on here they are great and if i was in the us i would be broke =)

as well to answer your question about the s5 shaft...i have one with a wooden blade in it that i modded up...its an 80 flex and its great for puck feel and i love the whip and velocity of shots i can get off with it. i am 5'8.5, 175 lbs just to give you an idea about flex feel

i also have an s5 for ball hockey =)

i think it cost me 40-45 canadian...not bad plus the 15-20 dollars cdn for the wood blade.

try living 20 min from tsr. Luckily I havn't been there in a while, so there's still some cash in my wallet lol.

Consider the Octogun at $90. I've heard good things about it on shooting and puck feel but it's not the lightest of sticks...

plus alot of stores are buy one get one free.

well I'm 511 175 so the S5 is deff gaining some praise in my book. I can ger that shaft and 2 blades for the price of 1 mid range OPS. I prefer the whippy ness of a 80 flex stick. I use an 85 right now

Goto hockeygiant.com, they have tons of closeout OPS sticks under 100 bucks. Steath S7 for $79, S11 for $85 I think too. Plus many other brands if those suit your fancy.

I was kind of in the same situation as you, where I had not played more than the occasional pick up for about 10 years and just got back into it. Even the $100 Easton Stealth I got at Dicks is a thousand times nicer than any of the sticks I last played with from 98-99 time frame. And I know the Dicks model is probably watered down (like everything else there) but I needed it on short notice.

Sure, if you are used to all the new OPS, the $100 ones might not be as nice, but if you are comparing to what you are used to you will be blown away.

i have the bauer x40 right now and that was a little under 100 for an intermediate, so i couldnt imagine it being much more expensive for a sr. also i have no complaint about this stick, i love the way it shoots.

I ended up buying an Easton S5 shaft & I've decided to give the Getzlaf blade a try. I posted pics in the "show off your gear" thread. I cannot wait to use it on Saturday!
