Help w/info on older Easton skates

Recommended Posts

Prior to the Synergy Composites, Easton skates had so many variations on their models that its hard to know the production year and place in the line up of any given pair. I found these Ultra Lite Pro's and I have some questions that I can't find information on.

For example:

What model year?

Where did it fit in their line?

What differences from their top of the line?

Retail?

What Easton models had the low profile boot cut? These look an awful lot like some of the game worn Z-Airs I've seen at Drop the Pucks . Was this simply a re-issue of that Z-Air with an updated liner and a new name for marketing in the early weight wars?

The outsole is standard plastic without the drainage gromet. Is that the main feature difference from the top of the line model?

What materials are the uppers made of?

Why wasn't this a more popular skate? Did the Vapor XX's come out at the same time? This is a helluva skate for the $45 bucks I paid for them. They will probably last beyond nuclear war.

Nice pick-up for $45!

I have a pair of Z-Airs that look very similar - the big difference is carbon like material in the heel counter and on the outsole of the skate. The eyelets on mine look different near the front of the skate as well. The only advice I can give you is to make sure that you monitor the tightness of the blade mounting hardware; mine broke a few times.

Yeah. I already lost a screw. I wonder if I dip the next one in rubber cement if it will stay put better.

god i loved the fit of this skate line, last skate that fit me perfectly...anyways.

These look to be from 2002 or 2003, the 2004 lineup had a slightly different side accent towards the heel

If memory serves me correctly, these were probably low to middle of the road for the model year, they went....

Ultra Lites

Ultra Lite Pro

Air

Z-Air

Z-Air Comp (silver/black)

Z-Air Comp SE (all silver)

i have been hoarding all the size 11.5ee Z-Air Comp's i can find, but they are gettings scarce

I had the easton air skates back in 2003, i used to love them and they had a really long black felt tongue. The best part was i got a easton synthesis.
