I was the teams leading scorer, i ended the season in 21 games scoring 31 goals and 17 assists for 48 points. But one particular game we were playing the Boston Jr. Terriers and the announcer for the Bruins games was there because his son was playing. My first shift i had two goals, i got off the ice with congrats from my teammates, and before i got out there again they scored two more goals, tieing it 2-2. I went out next shift scoreless, shift after that, natural hat trick, we were up 5-2, i got off the ice again, they scored two goals, and then another in the third to make it 5-5. 5 minutes or so left in the game, I went down on the wing on a one on two against the D, blew past one, dangled the other and sniped one top cheese for the winning 6-5 goal. During my celebration of my 6th goal (the old bow and arrow cele) a kid from their team blindsided me, we stood up and went toe to toe (surprised the refs allowed it). Helmets off and everything, squared up, we both got our fair share of punches in though. Walked off the ice with a big smile that day. On my way off I said to the ref, if we lose this game I'm going after that kid in the parking lot. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
shotty 7 Report post Posted July 16, 2010 driving down to Spokane for a sales meeting in the middle of summer. owners of the company I was going down to meet had a hockey game planned. we drive thru this super small town border in the kootenays (it looked like a converted gas station). border guard comes out and asks questions."what do you have in the back of the truck?""hockey gear.""where are you playing?""Spokane""what rink?""no idea""any booze, cigarettes or drugs? I ask because usually guys coming down here in the middle of the summer with hockey bags have all of the three"we all laugh and he passes us through.the typical way of pushing massive amounts of BC bud across the border from the kootenays is is in hockey bags in the middle of summer, so it was really funny.
