On the size chart border

I am looking to change out some of my Bauer gear with RBK. Im 6' and 196lbs; and currently have 15" shins and wear a large Bauer One75 pant. With the RBK shin chart says either a 15"/16" shin pad, and would fit into either into a large/xlarge pant. Is it best to size up or down with the sizing charts (snugger or looser fit / short or longer length)?

Edit: Im looking at either a pair of the 8k/10k shins and 7k pants.

It is all about personal preference and where you like your shin pads to come down to and how you like your pants to feel (loose or tight?).

Try both sizes on and buy the one that feels best on you
