Montreal Canadiens players' skates

Since a few players hand feet/ankle injuries this year, a lot of them wear these custom protectors for shot blocking.

I'd love a pair as I block shots and use size 17 guards, instead of 16's, to avoid nasty front ankle and foot injuries!

Thanks for the responses. I'm guessing that there's a clear plastic guard that I didn't notice in the pic.

They are just molded foot protectors, they had black ones but went to the clear ones a little while ago and can only tell they are wearing them by the black straps.

at the request of the skate manufacturer's i would assume.

Must be a recommendation from the team Dr's or Equipment guys, or they've just seen enough teammates get hurt (Pleky, Ginota, Kostitsyn, Koivu last year). Between the Habs & Dogs...I'd say half the organization ius using them.
