4 broken one95's in three weeks

Recommended Posts

So heres my story i play in the NAHL and the only stick ive used is the one95's since they came out. this past three weeks i broke two in one game and one was mabey 3 days old. a couple days later i bought another one and broke it the first time i used it. I sent both in at the same time and got them both back about a week later. then this past sunday i broke one of the replacements with in the first 10 min into the game on a pass.....what should i do. should i stay loyal to my favorite stick or try somthing new.

oh and i just called bauer warrenty about half hour ago and they said they most likly wont be able to do anything about the warrenty replacement that broke. and i know that the rule is the replacement are not replaceable but seriously i broke it in less then 10 min on a pass

Maybe they've recently had a bad batch come through. Not unheard of with composite items at times. Hopefully they figure it out and the sticks arent getting too fragile. I like them too and cant deal with having to replace them that often if this becomes the norm.

Onalaska? Really? The North Iowa rink could use some work and I think they're getting hosed when it comes to rent. I heard rumors about that too. I've yet to make it down to an Albert Lea Thunder game, might have to do so. Do you guys get your gear worked on by the dude in town or out by the highway?

Yea, I've heard good things about Martins. I've had more than one person tell me about him. I agree about Tiger City..I've seen old assed Vapor XXX's there for $189 and even a couple Bauer XXs for $180. The sticks there are old stock that have never been marked down. Ridiculous.

ya i actually went into tiger city a couple weeks ago because they have some cool old school NHL hats and one of the workers came up to me and told me i should buy a vapor xx for like $150 or somewhere around there and just break it and send it in because bauer will send me an x:60. pretty gong show

haha i wish but no, and if they did theyd probably be like $210 still anyways. i honestly dont think they have any 2008 or 2009 model sticks they are all older they still have a pair of vapor xxx's for $450

Yea, their skate selection is old. Maybe the shop manages can chime in, but what is the benefit to holding onto these old ass skates and never marking them down and bringing in new product?

Some people view anything less than full retail as lost money.

Yea, I was going to say, but I'm not sure if that is exactly the line of thinking successful retailers use. Word of mouth spreads pretty quickly. I live about 75 miles north of Tiger Sports and I already know that is not a place I want to go to get new gear.

Ive had the same problem with the one95. i broke 3 within a 2 week period. one lasted halfway through the first period. i called Bauer and also left them an email and have not heard back from them in 2 weeks. hopefully you will hear back from them before that amount of time. I am still sticking by Bauer but i am a little disappointed in their response time.

Are these breaking in the same place all the time or in various ways? Usually if it's a batch issue you see a lot of the same types of failures it seems
