Customizing pro stock gloves

Recommended Posts

I recently acquired a pair of TPS HG-1 Pro Stock (tie domi) gloves. I want to add laces to the cuff like the old school gloves have. So I need to plug some grommets into the cuff to hold the laces. However, I'm just worried it might mess up the integrity of the glove over all. What are your opinions on this matter? Should I try it? Or leave it the way they are? Also, I'd like to get "DOMI" taken off the cuff and reembroider it with my last name "WADE". Is that possible?

The grommets might be able to be done by a hockey shop, shoe repair shop or leather repair shop. Anyone with a grommet press, but you might have to deal with shoe lace sized holes. Shoot peaches pro repair an email, he's very helpful and might be able to give you an answer.

As far as the name. It seems like you could just take it off with a stitch-rip, but there would probably be little holes leftover. From what i have read here you couldn't add your name with out tearing the glove apart at probably a great cost. You can get little embroidered tags made and attach them to the cuffs with super glue or something. If it's really important.

hockeyrepair.com (They do repair for the MN Wild and Gophers and THE place to go to if you're a goalie)

peachesprorepair.com (ex-NHL equipment guy)

I'd email both and give a detailed description of what you want done.

Ok. Sounds great. Thanks slot guys. I just went to the crafts store by my house and picked up an eyelit kit so I'll do some more measurments with those and the gloves and see if the cuff will take these. As for the name, I was just thinking about getting a little name bar made to go over top. But it's not uber important. Thanks for all your help guys
