Removing Heat Press Logos

Recommended Posts

I have a few sets of old league team jerseys, and was wondering if the logos could be removed..so I got a hold of a Stahl's CS agent and asked what the process is. Here's the transcript from the chat.

Joel:

Is there a way or process to remove heat pressed logos from jerseys?

Phyllis:

Hello Joel, what is the logo made of?

Joel:

I'm not entirely sure.

Phyllis:

If it's gorilla grip, it won't come off. Thermo film can be removed with Methelyne Chloride.

Joel:

How do I tell the difference? It was done by a local print shop

Phyllis:

You really can't after it's been applied. What is the Jersey made of?

Joel:

It's an Athletic Knit Air Knit Hockey Jersey

Phyllis:

the "difference" is the glue, and that is applied on the shirt. The material is the same.

Phyllis:

May I ask what material it is made of?

Joel:

Polyester

Phyllis:

Thermo film is what is recommended but thermo grip and gorilla grip will also work.

Joel:

Do you carry or sell the Methelyne Chloride? or where can I get it?

Phyllis:

Yes, it is 12.50 a can and 5.00 to ship.

Joel:

Is there a place on your site? or do I have to call?

Phyllis:

You must get it at a government regulated facility, as it is a Hazzard Material.

Phyllis:

You have to call that one in, it is not on the web site Joel.

Phyllis:

800 478 2457

Joel:

Ok..no problem

Phyllis:

Ok Joel, good luck with that.

Joel:

I'll give the print shop a call and try and figure out what they used

Phyllis:

Ok

Joel:

does it come with instructions?

Phyllis:

Yes....... BE CAREFUL!

Phyllis:

dont inhale or get on skin.

Phyllis:

don't drop it on your floor or counter top.

Joel:

Always...Thanks for the info

Phyllis:

dab with cotton on wrong side of garment till glue loosens.

Phyllis:

No problem, have a good day.

Phyllis:

don't drink it either :0D

Joel:

outdoors as always

Phyllis:

great Idea!

Joel:

and rubber gloves

Phyllis:

Yes recommended

Joel:

sounds simple enough

Phyllis:

Ok Joel

Phyllis:

Have a good one

Joel:

Thanks Phyllis..You Too

Phyllis:

thanks

I'm sure SubliTwill might have some more info to share on this..but just posting this for future reference for anyone else looking to do this sometime.

Side question: Would it be possible to Cover said logos with another Heat Press? I know it could be done with a Tackle Twill or a SubliTwill ;) logo...but just curious.
