My Lace Bite Solution

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Well, some amazing new for me - I'm back playing again after thinking my lace bite would never go away.

Pretty much tried everything, then tried this. I folded the tongue to kind of 'doiuble' it upm, then used stick tape to keep it there (folded it away from me). thought it might hinder me a bit but it doesnt, it feels perfect (only a tad looser than bfore but no problem)

Thought I would share the good news and post up to help anyone else with a similar problem

Can post pics if needed :)

Would have tried this if they were easily available in the UK.

I tried a lot of alternatives, and I think a Bungapad wouldnt have worked. Hard to explain.

I'll post a pic soon to show you what I did - the lace/tongue completely misses the sore part now

ive seen guys use a computer mouse pad, cut for the inside of the tongue.

That's cause it's practically the same thing as a bungapad. Same with Dr Scholls insoles

the bungapad worked better for me than mousepad. it forms perfectly around your ankle and wont shift around at all.

Sorry, I guess I should have clarified that its ideally the same material. Of course the Bungapad will work better because it is cut and designed for your feet. A mouse pad is designed for a mouse lol.

I don't want to speak for everyone but there are a lot more "weekend warriors" here than you might think.

As for kick points, yes, it does matter. Because of a host of variables, different kick points will help different players. One guy might shoot rockets with a tapered shaft that has a low kick point while another guy wouldn't. I personally find that I prefer a higher kick point, something like the One 95 and Easton Stealth series of sticks provide.

You try cutting a beer "koozie" in half. I used those in my old skates that gave me lace bite. They worked great.
