greenstripetowel 1 Report post Posted March 27, 2010 New dolomite spyne 75 flexOk so just finished my second game with it so far impressions are my wrist and snap shot are noticeably weaker and less accurate than with my old stealth CNT 85 flex. It just doesn't feel like it has the snap my CNT has. Has anyone used the new dolo spyne and noticed this? I think the problem is the flex is too soft or the new linear taper messes up my shot. I am around 5'9" and 150 pounds. Hope I can adjust to this stick cause right now I wish I still had my stealth. Any thoughts or experience with this stick? Krev 86 Report post Posted March 27, 2010 Anything compared to a Stealth CNT is going to suck, just by the way. Other than that, the softer flex is probably what's throwing you off.
Vathsdrop 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2010 Might be the flex I had the same trouble I went from a 100 to a 75 flex (knowing that warrior flex are a bit optimistic usually) .. took me months to adjust but now I just can't do without a weak flex.. before it seems i just wasn't taking any benefit from the flex of my shaft..Using just 75flex max now.But I think you have 2 categories of players, those who shoot using the flexibility of their shafts and those who don't in both case they shoot good, no difference just a different way of shooting. For example I saw some pure kids launching rockets with +100 flex sticks... they are just used to play with something very rigid that doesnt flex at all.By the way weird to buy a dolo "spyne" ... Is is a lot more heavier than the regular dolo before the DD/HD ?
greenstripetowel 1 Report post Posted March 27, 2010 Yeah it feels more blade heavy than other dolos in store. It is the spyne with DD not HD. I guess it just came out recently haven't seen anyone else post anything about It. Maybe I just need to learn to lean on my stick a little more when shooting. Maybe I just need to learn to lean on my stick a little more when shooting.I have the model for poor people (aka HD), it's already awfully blade heavy, there's no feel at all.. it has the look though.Very disappointed so far.My old one90 (best stick i had so far) is heavier on the scale (my Dolo HD actually weights less than 450g for a flex75/draper, the post office said) but in the end my one90 feels lighter (the balance is awesome on this guy, you almost wouldn't say there is a blade at the end of the stick).I think the last true dolo are those before the HD (inno design 2008 and pre2008). After that they kept stuffing some s... in the blade altering the balance and the feel.
Krev 86 Report post Posted March 28, 2010 Chop the stick down and put in a wood plug. Should help with the balance.
greenstripetowel 1 Report post Posted March 28, 2010 Yes I would have to agree without actually using the older dolomites but after hearing all the hype I decided to try the new one out. I have used it in three games now and I'm disappointed. Shooting feels soft and I thought that's where this stick would shine. I have to say passing is great with it. don't know if I should try and track down an older dolomite or give up on them and find an older stealth and stick to what I know. Krev 86 Report post Posted March 28, 2010 If you're looking for something that will be comparable to an older Stealth, the newer Combat 52Cal and Easton S19 will be the closest you're going to get.

What is tps xn10 (yellow one) like compared to CNT.

What is tps xn10 (yellow one) like compared to CNT.Combat, formerly Ballistik, makes primarily baseball equipment. They branched out to hockey a few years ago, and their selection of sticks has been very impressive this year. All the info is available here on MSH in the review section. Look it up.S19 from a performance factor is comparable. Feel, close, but not there. The kick point is raised, but not significantly enough for most people to notice a difference. The performance of the S19 is so great, that it is definitely worth trying one. Good luck finding XN10's. Those are even harder to find than CNT's. I'm basically repeating myself at this point over the course of this thread. Either take the advice given, or look it up yourself. Closest things to the CNT are, again: Ballistik/Combat 52 Cal, Easton S19. Good luck, soldier.
Vathsdrop 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2010 Chop the stick down and put in a wood plug. Should help with the balance. I'm not sure, i will end up with a piece of steel impossible to bend.I'd better get it from a LHS next time to make you sure the balance concurs with my liking, instead of buying blindly on the web like a f...face.I got a game yesterday, im getting use to it slowly but certainly, blade is great, it has a very nice kick (shot release is dangerously quick), but i still dont have the feel i really liked with a one90/95. But i'm pretty sure i'll get use to it, just need the time to adjust to it and learn how to get something out of it and then it will become my number1 stick, no other choice anyway :D
Krev 86 Report post Posted March 29, 2010 I'm not sure, i will end up with a piece of steel impossible to bend.I don't mean keep the whole length of the plug. Keep maybe 1/4th of the plug, and cut accordingly.
Vathsdrop 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2010 Yep that's what i did on a combo shaft+blade but still the length is definitely not proportional to the flex. On my fake AK27 the 3rd inche hugely increased the flex whereas the 1st one didnt change that much the flex. The increase of the flex is exponential but you never i really know at what point it becomes crazy. Might be a good trick though for experts. On my dolo i already cut couple of inches to get the appropriated length, the flex is somewhere btw 85 and 90, and i dont wanna exceed 90 :o
greenstripetowel 1 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 Ok so I'm moving my locked CNT thread into this one my question was what current or discontinued stick feels/plays most like the stealth CNT. I lost my CNT and can't find one to replace it(sportchek does not carry my pattern forsberg 85 left). Thanks for the help.
Vathsdrop 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 What kind of feel it has ? (never tried any)Why dont you go with something solid ? (eg : one95 - probably the best overall stick out there currently)Otherwise there are some awesome stuff but not as durable, on the other hand you might gain on the "feel" side.X:60, s17, U+, rbk10/8, tps R10/8,.. to me all those sticks have an amazing feel, i can't see someone no liking them. It usually a pure pleasure to play with them, it's light, very responsive, has a monster kick..If you can find some torspo and salming. you might wanna try their top line stick, quite good as well.
