There is a "team sales" thread in the Ice Hockey section. I'm sure it hasn't been updated in a while.

From what I remember, the Canucks thing was in June-ish timeframe....

The sports exchange has a huge pro stock stick selection - everything is usually $150 or less. Other than that I'm not sure where you'll find "cheap" gear, but the oak st cyclone taylor is pretty good and the hockey shop is good to.

As for the Canucks sale, ask Shotty nut I don't think the deals were that great. I'm pretty sure most of the good stuff goes early to season ticket holders and staff

the canucks sale is not cheap. well, not as cheap as other team sales.

used sticks are $75, new sticks start at $100, gloves start at $75 (crusty ones) and go up to $150, the best deal i saw last year was a pair of tackla pants, blood stains included, for $50. arturs irbe's pads from YEARS ago were like $750. practise jerseys (size 60) are $80.

they've gotten much better at releasing gear throughout the sale, though. staff get first dibs, but only get one or two gear related items, then season ticket holders (unlimited selections) then general public. they DO hold stuff back, so if you go a few times you can luck out.

last season they sold all the burrows and kesler gear directly to an auction site who marked it up beyond what it was worth.

if you sign up for the canucks fan newsletter, they'll let you know the dates of sale in advance, and if you can find a STH/Blue Line Club member to go with (we can bring guests), then you'll get in a day before.

also, there's gear bags under the table, zipped up. no one is there to tell you not to, but thats where the keep the rest of the equipment. i unzipped and grabbed a pair of brand new edler XXXXs.

like furlanitalia said, sportsexchange on burrard st. and 6th ave carries tons of pro stock sticks and growing number of gloves, along with close outs.

Yeah thats pretty pricey for a team sale, depending on what you are looking for i would just head to thehockeyshop because they always stock canucks gear. Like RBK pro return gloves and kesler pro sticks.

the kesler sticks are retail SMU. not pro stock nor his pro pattern.

doesn't mean you shouldn't still go. it's a haven for gear whores, they have EVERYTHING.
