Flat-bottom V t'blades?

Recommended Posts

Haven't been around since the whole Flat-bottom V thing started and have tried them for the last 2 games, after using t'blades for the last 3 years. Loving the 100/50 and am wondering if anyone has heard of any plans for t'blade to start making FBV runners? The t'blade web site seems to be entirely in German now (or my google-fu is too rusty) and I have no idea where to look. Anybody?

I remember asking this question when the FBV first came out...iirc, the answer was BS's patent was going to cover it, and make sure that T'Blade won't be able to do just that. I'm not sure how that progressed and all..maybe JR or SAK can clarify further.

Well, the method and shape of the "hollow" is supposedly patented by Blackstone, so in order for T-Blade to use it, it would have to be licensed to them. Now, I'm sure that Blackstone would want a very significant amount to license it to a company whose product, in part, is designed to eliminate sharpening, which is the basis for Blackstone's entire existence.

But what about the Blademaster FB?

If Blackstone is awarded the patent, they would have to find a different way to impart the hollow on the steel. Until the patent is awarded or declined, everything is purely speculation.
