x50 vs one80

Well its that time of year again to buy a new pair of skates. Last year I stupidly baught a pair of reebok 9k's on clearance sale. I ended up hating these skates and now this season i am doing it right and moving back to bauer (which i used every season except last). My two options are the bauer one80's or the x50's. I know i like the traditional fit of the vapor series BUT i have never tried on a pair of any supreme skates. I know it is hard for you to help me if i have never tried them on but considering i like the fit of them both which would you pick if you were in my situation. I am a winger, I play on the hitting line. I am trying on the one80's next week when they arrive at my local hockey shop.

try on both for sure. get the one that feels the best, don't worry about what position you play. What I've always been told was vapors for F, supreme for D, however I never see this be followed tooth and nail. Kids get whatever is new and cool and don't worry about it. if you end up feeling that they are both equally fitting, I'd go with the x50s if you can get some kind of discount on them. if you can't get a discount for the 'older' skate, then really however much you want to spend i'd go with that. The x50s will be more proven so there is less chance of something wrong with them, as it probably isn't apart of the original stock from last season.

The X:50s won't be on discount - it is starting on year 2.

Depends where you go though... if they are small (like, really small) and need to sell stuff in order to have enough money for next season, they probably have discounts on stuff so they can get rid of it.

i just bought a pair of one80's!

the new tongue i say was enough to sway the decision towards the one80's. bauer went back to the thick white felt (with a pvc insert) on all their new supremes. tongue made a huge comfort difference.

keep in mind x50's and one80's have a different fit profile. one80's have a tight heel but wide forefoot, x50's have an average heel with a narrow forefoot.
