puckhoggy 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2010 Hey all,So I've finally decided to do some webcam chats, but I have been reduced to using my Logitech webcam I bought several (5+) years ago. I'm trying to use it with my laptop that doesn't have a built-in cam, but it won't work. I'm trying to have a Skype convo at the moment.I don't have any of the software for it and there is no model no. or name on the cam itself. How do I go about getting this webcam to work? Do I need to download a web cam driver or something? And I do not want to download from any non-secure website, as Im afraid to get viruses lolthx for any help.If it helps, it is a round greyish coloured ball, with the lens, of course, and a black covered area where the power button is. It also has a stand.
fatwabbit 93 Report post Posted May 2, 2010 dont think it needs any driver, as most OS would automatically recognise the USB.I'm stil using my old logitech cam that I bought about 5 years ago as well. Just plug and play, and works with both Skype and MSN. You might just have to check the settings in either program to ensure that you have the cam properly done. flyers10 57 Report post Posted May 2, 2010 Go to logitech's site and look to download the software and possibly a driver. I had to do that with an old webcam(6 years old) when I lost my software CD. They have an auto-detect feature on their support site to try to tell u what model u have or u can look it up by picture as well.

I was on their website before i made my original post, but didn't actually try hard enough to find the link. but it was there. so i now i have my webcam working and if there are any hockey ladies out on MSH who want to cam, I'm down for it lol..hehe
puckhoggy 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2010 For those who experienced the same issue with me, just plug in your logitech webcam and go to http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/support_downloads/ for the auto-detect function.
