Thanks for the comparison pic. You definitely have wide heel width. It looks to me like the G70 wouldn't be wide enough for your foot.

I am very surprised "straight backstay" is winning. Maybe I got the right skate after all.

lol that was actually the next skate to try on.. since most skates on the market dont fit me and if that skate dont fit looks like customs if only I can drop the dough on TO :(

Try on the G70 anyway.

Have you given the Supra 709 any thought? What is your backstay?

Lol I don't wanna hijack your thread :P afterall but ya I have tried on 709 and its still not wide enough at the front but the ankle lock was good though. I need a skate with a LOT of heel depth since most skates I've tried on are too shallow or just a bit off on the pencil test..

All right. This makes for a fitting transition to annunciate a distinction.

How do you know if a skate fits your foot? Satisfaction? Not necessarily. And in the same way, dissatisfaction doesn't necessarily mean that the skate doesn't fit your foot. Here's an example. Transitioning from the G3 to the G70 was a change from a skate with a more pronounced heel to a less pronounced heel. I became accustomed to the pronounced heel. When I skated in the G70 for the first time, I was mildly dissatisfied that my heel could not go back any farther when I skated hard backwards. What is the nature of this dissatisfaction? Does the skate fit properly or not? It might and it might not; but the feel alone is not a good criterion to determine whether a skate fits. The origin of my dissatisfaction was an arbitrary expectation. Simply, I readjusted my predilection to, instead of wishing the heel were elsewhere, wishing the heel were right where it is. It worked. My previous expectation impelled me to push hard into the heel almost as if to find the imaginary heel that lay father back. Satisfaction is rather malleable. It can be made to accommodate just about anything. To know whether a skate fits is to know what it criterea must be satisfied in order that a skate fit.

The width of the boot in the toe area is often one of the sources of dissatisfaction, but I don't think it means the skate necessarily doesn't fit properly. Are your toes being squeezed? Or are they scarcely touching?

When I was properly fitted, they said to get the narrowest fitting boot that fits your heel and worry about the forefoot/toes later. You can stretch the front of the boot if need be but you can't shrink the heel pocket, and if that's too big the skate is useless.

As far as fit, I knew the skate was fitting properly when I could lean way over on either edge and not feel my foot turning inside the boot.

I am using the G70. It's the only Graf that has a medium backstay and a deep instep depth. The heel is a medium width. In accordance with Jarick's information, I probably could have made a better choice, i.e. custom fit. To not get custom fit if you're going high-end is nuts, in my judgment.

The G70 skates, definitely high performance but the fit could be better for my foot.
