Federal Hockey League

I'm pretty sure I put this topic in the right forum since it is not a "pro" hockey league like the NHL, but does anyone know much about this new league? I know they have a few teams in the works, one is in Brooklyn and they are putting teams in Binghamton and Danbury. Basically what I'm asking is for what other members on here know of this league since I know a lot of people that are going to try out for these teams.

Well it is a new "Pro" league in the Northeast theres a few teams. There are teams in Rome, 1000 Islands area, Binghamton, Danbury, Brooklyn and a team in Canada that i know of. Dont really know the calibur of play since they havent started but i'd guess something like the AAHL. I have a few friends trying out also that werent able to make it over here in Europe.

Sounds like another joke league that won't make it. They've been trying to put together a small bus league in that area for years now and they always fail.

They tried the EPHL out there and failed after one year. They did get Ron Dugauy to play with the Brooklyn Aces for a game though.

the problem with these leagues is the salary cap. the reason the aahl is still going is because low expenses. Travel is less and teams are geographically close to AA teams so guys want to swallow their pride in order to get called up. Although teams have folded in the AAHL, it is still kicking around and has given some guys callups , just look at their transaction page. The aahl caliber isnt as bad as everyone thinks, just the rinks are shit.

o and if the FHL is anything like the EPHL, then the caliber will be similar to the SPHL
