Best way of drying skates?

Recommended Posts

Hanging the skates upside down prevents water from pooling and collecting around the runner bolts on Tuuks thus rusting them out. When I used to

work in a LHS, I came across a lot of Tuuks with rusted bolts and sometimes the bolts would snap while the player was on the ice.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense.

i just hang mine upside down and sometimes take out my insoles, though it's such a hassle putting them back in after.

I have prostock s-15s that are in amazing condition after 2 years....yes you heard correctly....s15's in amazing shape after 2 yrs. The guy at the proshop remembered when I bought them, and he said part of the reason they are in such good shape is that I wipe them down thoroughly in the locker room, and immediately upon getting home, I remove the insoles and put a fan on them. I got fitted for customs by JR, but these s15's wont die!! LOL.

Hanging skates upside down will prevent pooling, but it wont get rid of moisture rapidly.

I cant see a better way to dry skates than a fan...it removes moisture the fastest with no heat.
